The G and Sam Show:)

G, smart cat that he is, managed to open the door to the bedroom. We notice that and walk in, expecting the worst, and what we find is Sam and G sitting and looking at each other. Well and good.
So, since we wanted them to meet also in G's territory and see his reaction, we took Sam in her carrier, prepered lot's of Tuna to each cat, and set them loose.
Sam tried to get at the Tuna was her paws even before we let her out. G saw she is in the carrier, so he abandon his own little plate and tried to steal Sam's share while she was in the carrier...
I stayed in the computer room for the first part, but was allowed to join later. And god, it was fascinating.
G ate his share in half the time it took Sam - she kept stopping and looking up at him. So he kept trying to get at her share, but withdrew every time she gave him the Look. After she finished, she stepped out of the carrier. G went after her, and from than on for the next ten minutes, those two walk round and round the table, each trying to touch the other's tail, and both failing remarkably.
After that, they started to talk. Catish talk - border setting. G is much larger, and both of them know that he can injure her badly. But Sam is assertive, and both of them know that. . So, they go back and forth, back and forth, each trying to hit the other with his/her paw. But - both of them kept their nails tucked in. It was hilarious.
Right now, Sam escaped the room - she started crying pitifully, and I ran to see if she is in any distress, and the little smartass was at the door waiting for me to come so she can slip out. So, now they are back at it again. But since we are rather certain they will not hurt each other, we left them be and each of us is at his computer.
All in all, I think it's a marvelous success. Both cats are extremely intelligent -it's frighting. (G can recognize the signs and gestures we do and can actually react to them),both of them respect borders, and there is a weird balance between them, for all that Sam is the baby here. I think that after they finish thier "negotiations", they will get along just fine.
