All right, I broke down and watched the damn thing.

Most will be under cut for safety reasons.

So, *taking a deep breath*

Hate, hate, hate, hate how they handled this plot twist. It’s cheap.

The fact that Lexa was killed is heartbreaking. But not unexpected. That’s not what guts me.

However, before my reaction, let’s recap this:

We were focused on two main stories in this one: The AI plot line, and the Lexa story.
I admit that the flashbacks were well-intertwined with the events of "Thirteen,

“Bitter Harvist” ended, if you recall, with our discovering the 13 ark was Polaris and linked to ALIE. And we had dear Titus torturing Murphy for imformation. So, it was not hard to put two and two together and conclude that Polaris is Polis.

"Thirteen" provided us with a series of flashbacks that gave us an insight how it had all started, and helped clear things up a bit. Things are still murky, and there are still plenty more questions to be answered, but the basic nature of the Polis/Polaris connection has been clarified:

Becca, it turns out, is ALIE's creator. It was she who had accidentally wiped out the vast majority of humanity….now she is somewhat determined to clean up the mess she had made. Good luck there, dear. ( Becca gave Allie one a somewhat weird and vague order…that was fundamentally misunderstood . She took "too many people" to mean "kill all the people to make the number of people less.")

ALIE 1, by present day, was aware of the second version of Becca's AI, and she now needs it for some probably-nefarious, still unknown reason. In the flashback sequences, we saw that Becca was actively working on her new AI aboard Polarisbefore the nuclear missiles went off.

Interestingly, Becca was already up in space when ALIE set everything off and she already
On Unity Day, her doubting assistant ratted her out to the Commander and the two planned to float the AI (totally reasonable because, again, genocidal AI on a confined space ark is slightly problematic) in order to protect the remnants of humanity who were about to join their 13 stations together.

Instead of cooperating, Becca insisted she knew best, having improved upon ALIE 1 with ALIE 2, and locked the Commander and her own assistant out of the lab. She ejected herself and her AI (now residing in her) from Polaris, down to earth, and left the station behind to be blown up by the other stations.
When Becca landed on the irradiated ground, she encountered the remainder of Earth's humanity. Becca and her AI simply mingled with them rather than bringing anyone else down from Polaris with them to repopulate. And I mean that quite literally, on the a biological level: The AI was in Becca by the time she left Polaris.

Which is how Becca became the first Commander: The whole Commander-reincarnation thing is actually legit – except it's technological, not spiritual reincarnation.
Now *long sigh* that brings us to Clarke, and Lexa.

I will be short on this. I can’t stand this. It fucking hurts: Clarke tries, and fails, to convince Tituse that not all of Skaikru are at fault; not everyone agrees with the current Arkadia leadership. Lexa agrees and says that they have to give the Sky People time to right their own wrongs ,but Titus wants more. As a compromise, Lexa calls the 12 clans to march on Arkadia to “contain” it.

Titus is not happy with Lexa’s closeness to Clarke: “To be commander is to be alone,” he advises. And then he goes for the deep cut: “Don’t make her pay for your mistakes the way Kostia did.”

Meanwhile, Clarke had decided that she must goes back to Arkadia and warn them. Before they go their separate ways, Clarke says, looks at Lexa and says : “Maybe someday you and I will owe nothing more to our people.”. And than she kisses her and pushes her into bed. They both have tears in their eyes.

Clarke goes to gather her things before heading out. But she never makes it.
Clarke finds Murphy tied up in her room, and Titus is there, too … with a gun. He says Lexa can’t be the commander she needs to be while Clarke is alive. He tries to kill her. But he is not skilled with a gun. And when Lexa enters the room he hits her instead.

And that’s why I’m pissed off. That’s why I’m angry. It’s a meanless death, with no purpose. Its was done about two minutes after those two were calm and contact and happy. And to make it worse – I feel like we were baited.

Clarkes Good by from Lexa is heartbreaking, but I can’t get into that.

One thing interesting: After Lexa is dead Titus turns her over and where there is an infinity tattoo and a scar on her neck — the very same scar we saw on Rebecca’s neck after she landed on Earth. He cuts it open and a chip CRAWLS OUT OF HER. Murphy says it’s an AI, but Titus says, no, “It’s the spirit of the Commander.”

And now the conclave must begin.
