more in the Land of Weird Physical symptoms. And Israelis and meds
Look like something bit me in a...bad place. The groin, to be precise. Don’t know how the hell it got there, but if feels just like a mosquito bite. Having being through a good few inching and rashes and so on, I think I recognize the difference. I did not know there are biting insects this far off season.
Also, I read about the phenomena of Israelis and meds – looks like there is an enormous gap between the people’s awareness that’s it’s important to take one’s meds, and the actual implementation on ground. I was appalled at the extent of this phenomena. But was also comforted to read that a gap of a few hours is not even considered “a forgetting”. As long as I took the med and will take the other pill in a few hours, it’s All Well, and no ham was done.
I was badly rattled, though, because I thought I was better than that, that I don’t make such errors anymore, and…

I generally remember my meds without too much of a problem, but I have trouble adjusting to changes in timing, etc. And honestly, even if I do remember well on my own, it's still one less thing for me to deal with if I systematize it. What has worked for me is having the pills organized in a pill organizer (mine looks like this) and having the organizer in a spot where I'm going to see it when I wake up and go to bed (it's on the bathroom counter, in my case). Also, tying taking meds to a routine, like brushing your teeth, helps- I've got whole morning and evening routines and those really, really help me. If you only take medication occasionally, like antibiotics, then setting an alarm on your phone to remind you might help. I make pretty liberal use of phone and calendar alarms for many things- I almost always have the phone with me, and alarm sounds will pull me out of hyperfocus.
Of course, I have to remember to refill the box every week, but I get a built in cue when I find the empty box on Saturday night.
Hope that might be helpful for you!
